The past few months have been difficult ones for most us, and the future continues to be uncertain. STPS has been financially impacted by closures and cancellations due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Both gift shop locations were closed for nearly seven weeks, events and fundraising plans along with our educational night walks this summer were canceled and the Turtle Krawl 5K event planned for September is now a virtual 5K. 

Throughout this time, and under special protocols, our volunteers have continued to monitor our emergency hotline and respond to calls to rescue and transport sea turtles to the care that they need as well as conduct daily nesting surveys on the beach. STPS continues to train volunteers and offer remote educational resources to the community.

Now more than ever, your financial support will help us to continue these activities as part of our mission to help sea turtles survive. Each donation is important; here is how your donation might make a difference:

$5: Gloves and hand sanitizer to volunteers conducting stranding, transport or nest excavations. 
$10: Provide transportation for a post-hatchling to a rehabilitation center
$15: 1 measuring tape for our nest survey teams
$20: 1 transport tub for stranded sea turtles to be transported to a rehabilitation center
$25: 1 stranding team backpack with supplies 
$50: Educational material printing
$75: 1 pair of 2-way radios for Turtle Walks
$100: Beach clean up supplies (bags, gloves, grabbers, etc.)
$250: STPS transportation vehicle maintenance
$500: 1 Microchip scanner for Turtle Walks and Stranding
