Turtle Walk on this date will be in Satellite Beach.
Our Florida State Permit allows us to guide groups to observe nesting Loggerhead sea turtles.
- Presentation about sea turtles that nest in our area, the threats they encounter, and what you can do to help them survive.
- Walk to the beach for possible observation of a nesting Loggerhead sea turtle with our permitted Guides.
- You will receive a confirmation e-mail from walks@seaturtlespacecoast.org including a letter highlighting important information and a map to your designated walk location to meet with our Walk Team approximately one week prior to your scheduled Turtle Walk.
- Please arrive at your designated location no later than 8:45 PM. Presentation begins promptly at 9:00 PM.
Important Turtle Walk Information:
- STPS cannot guarantee the arrival of a nesting sea turtle on every walk, but nesting turtles are sighted on about 80% of our walks.
- Participants should be able to walk at least 1 mile in soft sand.
- Please no children under the age of 7, due to the late hour and extended walking that may be required.
- Please arrive at your walk site no later than 8:45 pm and check in with the greeter.
- Turtle Walks are a rain or shine event; the decision to cancel a walk will be made at the walk location by the walk leader, if necessary.
- Wear beach appropriate shoes and dark colored clothing. (You may get wet.)
- Insect repellent and drinking water are highly recommended.
- Flash photography is not permitted!
- Flashlights are not permitted!
- Cell phone use will not be allowed when we are on the beach.
- Smoking and alcoholic beverages are not permitted!
- Souvenir tee shirts and other items may be available for purchase before each walk.
- Donations cannot be refunded or resold.
