Our Florida State Permit allows us to guide groups to observe nesting Loggerhead sea turtles. The Walk Team is comprised of many volunteers including Greeters, Presenters and Guides all trained and experienced in their respective roles. Special Training is required for our Guides.
The evening will begin with a Presentation about sea turtles that nest in our area, the threats they encounter, and what you can do to help them survive. Then, with the cooperation of Mother Nature and the respective sea turtles – you may be able to observe a nesting Loggerhead sea turtle with our permitted Guides. Although there are no guarantees – the STPS Turtle Walk Team has a great success rate due to our very close proximity to the Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge, the site of the second largest Loggerhead nesting area in the world!
You will receive a confirmation e-mail including a letter highlighting important information and a map to your designated location to meet with our Walk Team within a week following your completed reservation donation.
Please arrive at your designated location no later than 8:45 PM. Presentation begins promptly at 9:00 PM.
